What's happening
In September 2004, the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (MROSD) completed its boundary expansion to include the San Mateo County Coastside.

In the next few weeks, District officials will make two major decisions affecting representation on the District Board and the appointment of an ombudsperson to act as a liaison between the District and its constituents.

MROSD to hold workshops for adjusting ward boundaries
The District has seven elected Board members, each representing a geographic ward with approximately the same number of residents. MROSD is now adjusting the boundaries of its seven wards so as to provide representation for coastal residents who became constituents when the boundary was extended.

Having developed several scenarios for the redistricting, MROSD now seeks public comment at a series of community workshops in the next several weeks. We encourage you to attend one of these meetings and provide your input about the best way to represent all who live within the boundaries of the District.

The content of each meeting will be the same, so attendance at more than one is not necessary.
