Committee for Green Foothills and others
have worked for four decades to protect open space on the Coast.
Nestled in the foothills of Pacifica,
this 1,150-acre park includes coastal scrub and chaparral vegetation.
The year-round San Pedro Creek and Brooks Creek provide some of
San Mateo County’s last remaining spawning areas for migratory steelhead.
Hikes to the mountaintops offer spectacular views of the region.

Hike! 10:30
Docents will lead morning hikes through the park, telling more about the
park’s environment and some of CGF’s work to protect coastal open space.
Choose from a leisurely 1.75-mile hike to Brooks Falls or a moderate 2.5-mile
hike up to stunning views of the San Pedro Creek valley.
Picnic! noon
Afterwards, we’ll gather for a potluck picnic lunch. Eat and meet with
CGF members, our board of directors and staff. Bring your own plate,
silverware and napkin, and a dish of your choice to share. We’ll provide
the drinks.
Learn! 1:00
Join CGF’s new Executive Director, Tom Cronin and our Legislative
Advocates Lennie Roberts, Brian Schmidt and April Vargas for an update
on our current projects to protect local open space.
