2004 Annual Members' Potluck Picnic and Hike!

Saturday, May 15, 2004 • 10:30 am - 2 pm
RSVP     Directions to San Pedro Valley Park

Please join us for our annual picnic and hike in San Pedro Valley Park in Pacifica.

Committee for Green Foothills and others have worked for four decades to protect open space on the Coast.

Nestled in the foothills of Pacifica, this 1,150-acre park includes coastal scrub and chaparral vegetation. The year-round San Pedro Creek and Brooks Creek provide some of San Mateo County’s last remaining spawning areas for migratory steelhead. Hikes to the mountaintops offer spectacular views of the region.

Hike!   10:30
Docents will lead morning hikes through the park, telling more about the park’s environment and some of CGF’s work to protect coastal open space. Choose from a leisurely 1.75-mile hike to Brooks Falls or a moderate 2.5-mile hike up to stunning views of the San Pedro Creek valley.

Picnic!  noon
Afterwards, we’ll gather for a potluck picnic lunch. Eat and meet with CGF members, our board of directors and staff. Bring your own plate, silverware and napkin, and a dish of your choice to share. We’ll provide the drinks.

Learn!   1:00
Join CGF’s new Executive Director, Tom Cronin and our Legislative Advocates Lennie Roberts, Brian Schmidt and April Vargas for an update on our current projects to protect local open space.

Everyone is welcome!

No RSVP is necessary for the picnic, but please let us know if you’d like to join a hike -- space is limited.

RSVP for the hike by Friday, May 14 to the CGF office at (650) 968-7243 RSVP@GreenFoothills.org.

Directions to San Pedro Valley Park
Parking is $5 per car -- bring your cash, and carpool if you can.
Take Highway 1 north (from Half Moon Bay) or south (from San Francisco) toward Pacifica. Turn east onto Linda Mar Boulevard, and follow it until it ends at Oddstad Boulevard. Turn right on Oddstad, and drive one short block to the park. We’ll meet in the North Walnut Grove Picnic Area.
