Action Alert: Speak up for Open Space!

Dear Friend,

Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District needs your help!  Please attend one of the District’s Public Workshops and help decide the future of our local open space lands.

What’s Happening:

The Open Space District is currently engaged in a comprehensive Open Space Vision planning process that will help prioritize future land conservation, stewardship, public access, and land management decisions over the next 15-20 years.
The process involves 5 public workshops, where community members will help decide the future of our local open space and environment.  Once complete, the vision will guide the district’s work for the next 15- 20 years.

Why This is Important:

This is not only a great opportunity to help guide the future of open space from Los Gatos to San Carlos and the Coastside, but it is also a chance to stand up to opponents of open space and ensure that their voices are not the only ones heard at these visioning sessions.  A group called Citizens Alliance for Property Rights has sent an alert to their supporters encouraging them to participate in the visioning process.  While we encourage everyone to be a part of this process, we hope that a range of viewpoints will be present and that participants will not solely be made up of opponents of open space.

What You can Do:

Please attend one of the public workshops and weigh in with your vision for open space, farmlands, and natural resources, now and in the future!  RSVP by clicking on the date of the meeting you will attend (below).
