To thank our Stegner Giving Circle members* for their generous support, Committee for Green Foothills is pleased to provide you an exclusive sneak peek of Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District’s Bear Creek Redwoods Open Preserve, which is not yet open to the public. Our rich history with this property dates back to 1995. Before the 1,100-acre landscape was permanently protected, we led the grassroots efforts to successfully defeated two golf course proposals.
To fully enjoy this beautiful preserve, we will offer two hikes. One is an easy, all-access 0.25-mile hike around a pond. The second hike is strenuous and in the redwoods. It starts with a 0.25-mile switchback at 12-15% grade, followed by a 2.25-mile uphill hike with a 15% grade on a former logging road and 500 ft elevation gain in total. Please join us for a light breakfast and a hike on this beautiful preserve!
