From the article: Dueling Initiatives about the Main Street Bridge

Dueling initiatives will be placed on the June 3 ballot for Half Moon Bay voters about the Main Street bridge.
The city attorney is drafting the language for both ballot measures, as directed by City Council at its March 4 meeting.
One asks voters to preserve the bridge while repairing it but without expanding it. That one has the support of a local grassroots organization of merchants and residents who wish to preserve the historical bridge.
The other asks voters to trust the city to develop the best plan for a replacement bridge. That initiative is backed by City Council. That plan comes with federal funding to pay for most of the rebuilding costs.
