8 Big Moments of 2019

We asked a lot of you this year. You signed petitions, sent letters, collected signatures, attended meetings, and donated generously. You made a difference. January 15, 2019

150+ people joined us at a Half Moon Bay City Council meeting as we submitted 4,680 signatures opposing a luxury hotel and RV park adjacent to Dunes Beach
January 22, 2019

200+ people participated at our Rally for Coyote Valley at San Jose City Hall 
June 8, 2019

Bear Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve opened to the public. In the 1990s, we stopped development proposals from destroying this 1,500 acre landscape, POST and MidPen went on to buy

June 20, 2019

Los Gatos Town Council approved a first of- its-kind wildlife-friendly fence ordinance after 2 years of our advocacy work with community members


June 21, 2019

We unveiled an interpretive panel at Devil’s Slide in honor of Lennie Robert’s decades of work to protect the coast 
September 24, 2019

With Save the Bay, Citizens Committee to Complete the Refuge, and Bay Keeper, we sued the Trump Administration in response to giving up Clean Water Act jurisdiction over the Cargill salt ponds in Redwood City

October 24, 2019

After our extensive effort to garner public support that included gathering 2,000+ petition signatures, the State Lands Commission approved the Burlingame Shoreline Park

November 6, 2019

After 40 years of advocacy, we celebrated the permanent protection of 937 acres of land in Coyote Valley

I am proud of what we do at Committee for Green Foothills. Together we are creating a region that will serve as a model for how a community can thrive as a result of land use decisions made in balance with and respect for nature.
