question the board.
Why does the Bay Area keep very old trees standing? I studied from environmental studies, that when the tree is too old it does not give out enough oxygen, it’s better to cut it down and plan 5 more trees in its place. That will keep greens on the hills and fewer fire issues in California.

The Bd. of Supervisors of San Mateo County is looking into A Fuel Load Reduction plan after the fires last year, but, trees are very expensive to remove, when arborists, permits and hauling is considered. But they will be only taking care of Public Lands. Homeowners are on their own, it’s looking like.
