Volunteer to represent Green Foothills by helping at our information tables at local community events! If you’re passionate about local nature and enjoy talking to others, this volunteer opportunity is for you. Community Ambassadors help spread awareness about Green Foothills’ work on pressing environmental issues that impact San Mateo, Santa Clara, and San Benito Counties.

About the Community Ambassador Program
The Green Foothills Community Ambassador Program (CAP) is a pilot project starting in 2025 for volunteers who will represent Green Foothills at tabling events. Community Ambassadors will spread awareness about Green Foothills’ work on pressing environmental issues that impact San Mateo, Santa Clara, and San Benito Counties. This program is ideal for individuals passionate about the natural environment and excited to engage their community.
Community Ambassadors will:
- Engage with the San Mateo, Santa Clara, and San Benito County community.
- Serve as a bridge between Green Foothills and the local community, helping to foster deeper connections and support for Green Foothills’ mission.
- Be a vital presence at local events, tabling, sharing information, and encouraging the community to get involved in Green Foothills’ ongoing efforts.
Community Ambassador Responsibilities
- Attend in-person local community events to represent Green Foothills. At these events, set up information tables, engage with attendees, distribute educational materials, and provide information about upcoming events.
- Encourage community members to support Green Foothills.
- Build knowledge about Green Foothills.
Community Ambassador Benefits
- Receive training on local environmental issues, Green Foothills’ mission, advocacy and effective community engagement techniques.
- Meet like-minded individuals, including environmental leaders and local activists.
- Receive a free ticket to and recognition at Green Foothills’ annual celebration, Nature’s Inspiration.
- Play a direct role in helping the local environmental movement.
Qualifications
- Passionate about the local environment and Green Foothills’ mission
- 18 years or older
- Reside in Santa Clara, San Mateo, or San Benito County
- Good communication skills
- Experience or interest in working with diverse populations
- Working knowledge of Spanish a plus
